“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17)
How is it with your soul? Are you growing in our relationship with God or are things stagnant? I think these are good questions to ask ourselves.
We were created by God to live in caring, connecting community with others. While the time we spend together in worship is central to our Christian faith, worship alone does not complete us, we must connect beyond worship into a small group of friends who are doing life together, supporting and encouraging one another in our journey of faith.
Our Wesleyan tradition was built on the coupling of worship and connection found in a small group. We believe that an important part of our growing in Christ-likeness is done best in the context of a small group of friends who are working toward the same goal – spiritual maturity.
Our Christian journey doesn’t stop when we say “I do” to Jesus’s call to come follow Him. That is just the beginning of a life-long, life changing relationship where we seek to grow more and more into God’s likeness. This process of spiritual formation is one of the most meaningful and enjoyable aspects of our shared faith.
At RBUMC, we offer two groups on Sunday mornings at 10 AM. In addition, we have seasonal classes that meet to explore specific topics or to join in a book study together.
